Vehicle Wrap Care

How do I care for my wrap

Keep your vehicle wrap looking its best with regular cleaning and gentle care. Follow these simple steps, and please call Wrap Solutions at 781-942-0111 for any additional washing information.

When can I wash my vehicle

Wait at least 72 hours after installation before washing your new wrap. Follow any longer waiting period provided by your installer.

What is the best way to wash my wrap

Hand washing is recommended. Wash about every two weeks, or sooner when the vehicle looks dirty.

  • Wash in the shade on a cool surface.
  • Rinse away loose dirt before washing.
  • Use mild, pH-neutral car wash soap and a clean, soft wash mitt.
  • Rinse thoroughly and dry gently with a clean microfiber towel.

Can I use an automatic car wash

Avoid washes with spinning brushes or cloth strips. They can scratch the film and catch or lift its edges. If you use an automatic car wash, choose a touchless, spray-only wash and skip the wax option. Hand washing remains the preferred method.

Can I pressure wash my wrap

Hand wash whenever possible. High-pressure water can damage the film or force water under its edges. Do not direct pressure spray at seams, corners or lifting film. Call us for guidance specific to your wrap before pressure washing.

How do I remove bird droppings or stubborn dirt

Clean bird droppings, bugs, tree sap and fuel spills promptly to help prevent staining or damage. Soften stuck-on dirt with warm, soapy water, then gently clean and rinse. Avoid scraping or aggressive scrubbing. Contact us if a stain will not come off.

Which cleaning products should I avoid

Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, acetone and paint thinner. Ask us before using wax, polish or coatings, especially on matte or satin finishes. Always test a new approved cleaner in a small, inconspicuous area first.

How do I care for perforated window film

Do not use ice scrapers on windows covered with perforated film. Scrapers can scratch, tear or lift the graphic. Use your vehicle’s defroster to help loosen ice, and avoid scraping the film.

How else can I protect my wrap

Park indoors or in the shade when possible to reduce sun and heat exposure. Never pick at loose edges or attempt repairs yourself. Contact us if you notice lifting, bubbling, cracking or other damage.

What should I do if my wrap starts cracking

If you notice cracking anywhere on your wrap, contact Wrap Solutions immediately so we can assess the film and begin planning professional removal. Cracking is a sign of deterioration and may indicate that the wrap has reached the end of its service life or has degraded from sun, weather and environmental exposure. Do not wait for the cracking to spread or attempt removal yourself.

Leaving deteriorating film on the vehicle can make removal more difficult and increase the risk of adhesive residue and damage to the underlying paint or finish.

Vehicle owners are responsible for monitoring the condition of their wrap, reporting deterioration promptly and arranging timely removal. Wrap Solutions is not responsible for additional removal costs or damage caused by delaying removal of visibly deteriorating film. This does not change any applicable installation or manufacturer warranty.
